'Tutu'

Eucalyptus blossom

Walking quietly in a local bush park, a day after the Truffle Festival, I found this glorious tree. The blossoms looked like tutus as they swayed in the breeze.

I had enjoyed attending the festival and once again savouring the flavour and scent of black truffles. I had enjoyed people watching under the tall trees. It was a good day. However, with the tents and people gone, I had rain damp earth, the warble of magpies and the perfume of eucalypts all to myself again.
Edit- having read the comments, I can say yes, this is a real flower! To see more of these blossoms in all their variety click here
