'Because BB posted about the kitchen'

Here is a picture of our 1980's orange hob.

(with brown tile surround, how divine.)

One day, we will have a kitchen of palest green.

One day we will rip out the brown tiled worktops and the badly made cabinets

(that I painted red, to cover up the brown).

One day we will plaster the walls

(that I painted yellow, to cover the beige bricks).

One day we will have an 'unfitted' kitchen,

with two old dressers, a farmhouse table,

pale green walls

and

a
very

particular
BRIGHT RED
Le Creuset kettle
(with a whistle),
sitting on a stainless steel hob.

I feel quite strongly about this.
