Dusk
From the kitchen window.

The weather is warming up in Australia, so I close all curtains during the day. Our house remains cool and the air conditioner dormant. As the temperature drops I open curtains, windows and doors again, allowing cross breezes to air the house. Tonight, I was greeted by a pink sky, trees in silhouette and the laughter of Kookaburras. (click on link to see and hear these birds).

Lovely sky and laughed along with the birds.

Beautiful subject for a watercolor and ink, I think.

Funny birds. Knew a childhood song about them.

I should love to join you for a cooling G&T, sitting on the patio, watching the sun set, listening to the birds and enjoying the "craic"

It's pretty cool in this house, too. Snow on the hills, and no kookaburras, alas.

Oh, you can't even imagine how wondrous this post is to me, living in North America as I do. It's warming up where you are, and getting ever colder where I am. You can actually hear the sound of Kookaburras, something that, like kangaroos, is the stuff of myth to me and mine. I've played the link over and over so that we can all hear what a Kookaburra sounds like. Thank you, thank you.

So nice to see (and hear) what is happening on the other side of the world. Laughter to you, too..as your weather warms.
